I had an incredible time working on Moana with Production Designer John Myhre. I got to do a bunch of studies exploring Maui's body and proportions. I had to sculpt him from scratch. I don't usually get the opportunity to sculpt likenesses so this was a really fun challenge. I was also able to work for a brief time with one of my heroes, Joel Harlow! Harlow's team created Maui's incredible bodysuit and did the tattoos. Last but not least, I got to work briefly with Costume Designer Liz McGregor. She was wonderful. Maui's final look was illustrated by my insanely talented friend Imogene Chayes.
