The Deathclaws for Fallout season two! I had so much fun working on this creature design with the incredible Production Designer Howard Cummings. It was an amazing challenge. The first step was taking the original design and updating it. I did my best to stay true to the game while making the creature a bit more realistic. After I got him in the ballpark I worked with Howard and the phenomenal team at Legacey FX to just indicate where we could fit a suit performer inside this behemoth. Once I got the design approved, the model was handed over to Legacey and they did some incredible work. I got to see the suit in some behind the scenes footage. I'm so impressed with what they were able to do and get in camera. My model was also given to visual effects vendors to work with. It's interesting for me personally because I used to want to work entirely in practical effects as a designer and sculptor making these creature suits. Designing in Zbrush has given me the opportunity to contribute to both practical and visual effects pipelines. Also a huge thank you to the incredibly talented Thang Le !
